A Special Birthday Celebration!

May 11th saw the marking of York as a Fair Trade City in a special way!Mark Dawson sharing his thoughts and memories of Fair Trade in York

FairTradecakesandteaandcoffeeA dedicated service was held at St Lawrence’s Church.  We were fortunate to have Mark Dawson speak to us as the past chair of the Fair Trade Forum when York was awarded its Fair Trade status.  A Riding Lights member gave us a humorous and thought provoking sketch on climate, poverty and responsibility. The church members supported us hugely with the music, prayers and fantastic decoration of the church – we had flags from all corners of the world hung between the pillars.

All this truly marked our 10th Anniversary.

Here’s to the next 10 years!
